Where did your derby name come from?

I love all things red velvet, especially cake, and my hair is red!

How long have you been skating?

I first put derby skates on in 2014, and I tried to skate whenever I could (mostly in my kitchen) until I got to do Fitness Skate at the Mid-Coast Recreation Center for a couple months every summer. But I've been skating for derby for a year.

 

Why do you play?

Because it's fun, challenging, empowering. It's the best way to exercise, in my opinion. For my team, because they're the best and I love skating with them every week. I've never felt so sure about doing something as I have with skating and roller derby. Also, because it's the best!

 

What's a great song to skate to?

Dancing Queen by ABBA, of course.

 

 

What's your favorite derby memory?

Probably watching the 2017 WFTDA championships in person!
